FAQs

What if the dates I select are unavailable?
Our booking page displays up-to-date availability and pricing. If the dates are unavailable then it is most likely that we have other guests during those dates.

I would suggest checking the availability of Galleon House, which is another self-catering property just next door, to see if there is availability.

Can more than 8 people stay in Mariners?

No. In order to maintain compliant with safety requirements and our quality standards, stays are limited to a maximum of 8 guests.

If you are a larger group, consider Galleon House, a self-catering holiday let with space for up to 8 people just next door!

Can infants or babies stay at Mariners?
Babies and infants can stay in the house just be aware that we have no cot or baby facilities (ie. stair gates or child toilets etc…) so you may need to bring these yourself. I have also made no attempt to baby proof furniture and the spiral stair case can be difficult for young children so they may require more supervision during your stay. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
When is check-in / check-out?

Generally, check-in is from 16:00 on the first day of your holiday; please provide an accurate time and notify me of any changes so I can arrange for either myself or my manager and neighbour Emma to welcome you.

The property must be vacated by 11:00 on the last day, please ensure that the house is tidy upon departure, that all appliances have been switched off, used dishes have been placed on a cycle and windows closed.

If you would like to check-in/check-out outside of these hours, get in touch and I will see if it is possible.

Do you offer any discounts?

I only offer two discounts; weekly (15%) and monthly (30%), which will have been automatically applied to your total booking amount. Any other discount requests will be declined.

Can I leave my luggage in the house?

You may leave luggage with my neighbour and manager Emma after your stay, provided this has been arranged before your departure time and a pickup time decided in advance. Alternatively you may be able to extend the check out time, if the property is available. Get in touch and I’ll see if it’s possible!

Will you be there during my stay?

I live abroad so will be unlikely to be present during your stay, however you will get the use of the entire house and all the amenities during your holiday. I will be available by email and phone once you book to ensure you will have everything you need for your stay.

My lovely neighbour and manager Emma who lives nearby will be there to advise you on what to do in the area and resolve any issues you may have.

The nearest garage is Pearces Service Station in Drakewalls, Gunnislake 10 minutes drive away and has a small supermarket; it is open until 9pm except on Sundays. Another alternative is online shopping – with Tesco and Sainsburys delivering to Calstock.

Is there an ATM nearby?
