We’ve put together a list of our top three favourite wedding venues in the Tamar Valley area, but there are many more options, catering to a whole range of tastes and budgets. In such a beautiful area, you really can’t go wrong.
1. Pentillie Castle
It’s hard to imagine anything more magical than getting married at a private castle! Pentillie Castle is a beautiful and ancient family home, licensed for civil ceremonies, and boasts fifty-five acres of woodland garden for the most breath-taking photo opportunities. What more could you ask for?
2. Moorland Garden Hotel
Want to get married in the fresh air of the Dartmoor National Park? Then the Moorland Garden Hotel might be the place for you. They are licensed to hold ceremonies in their beautiful Rose Arbour, and their experienced wedding team will make sure your special day goes smoothly, so you can relax and enjoy the view.
3. Honicombe Manor
Another historic option nestled in the lush countryside, Honicombe Manor in St Ann’s Chapel offers several majestic rooms for your ceremony and reception. Their wedding package includes outdoor games and leisure amenities if you stay overnight, perfect for a glorious summer wedding.
The Wedding Accommodation
Although some venues offer the option to stay on-site, more intimate gatherings – or if you simply want a touch of personal luxe at your wedding – might be suited to some private accommodation that the Tamar Valley has to offer.

Smaller groups should try the unique Okeltor Boathouse, a converted eighteenth-century granary on the banks of the Tamar, with its own slipway into the river. Dreamy after a hard day of dancing!
